Performances When it comes to top line performers such as James Morrison, Lee Kernaghan, John Williamson, John Waters and Barbra Morrison, visiting the district, Camden Civic Centre is proud to be a first choice venue. The centre also regularly holds children’s concerts and performances. The Camden Civic Centre has hosted the Play School Concert, The Hooley Dooley’s, The Little Maestros plus a variety of plays and pantomimes. The Camden Civic Centre is a favourite venue to hold dance concerts, live bands, disco's, cabaret performances, theatre productions and school spectaculars. Annually, Camden Council provides a small amount of funds as fee relief for not for profit groups providing musical or performing arts performances at the Camden Civic Centre. Funds will increase accessibility to groups wishing to provide such performances to the community. For more information visit our packages page. Camden Civic Centre is equally proud to be a supporter of the broader arts and cultural community and host many important annual events including the Camden Art Prize in May, and the Camden Antique Fair in September. The walls of the Camden Civic Centre in general and The Ferguson Gallery in particular provide a home for prize winning local art by way of a permanent exhibition. Other events and group activities hosted by the Camden Civic Centre include Camden Country Quilters, Camden Society of Artists, Writers and Scribblers, Conservatorium Music program for children, literary luncheons, dance eisteddfods, school holiday entertainment and workshops, belly dancing, and more.
