penrith_symphony_orchestra

PENRITH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

For the first time in Camden, hear the award-winning Penrith Symphony Orchestra with world-renowned piano soloist Clems Leske.

Mythical accounts of tragic love have fuelled the human imagination since time immemorial. Both Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture and Wagner's Prelude to Tristan and Isolde explore the depths of human experience. No less steeped in legend is Le Fontane di Roma, in which Respighi seems to animate majestically the city's great historical and legendary personages and the buildings and roads they inhabited. Mozart's characteristically elegant and transparent Piano Concerto No. 23 provides a striking contrast, whilst the program also provides an opportunity to sample music by Graeme Koehne, one of Australia's leading post-modernist composers.

Conductor: Paul Terracini. Soloist: Clemens Leske, Piano.
Works by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Koehne, Wagner and Respighi.

Camden Civic Centre. Adults: $22. Group of 10+ $17 pp. Group of 20+ $15. 4.00pm concert.
Enquiries and bookings: Phone 1300 789 118. Or on-line: www.pso.org.au Email: manager@pso.org
